Shine II
i shine when i scrub the porcelain smile off of Marge’s nude lipstick. i shine when my Barbie calendar wrinkles with the weight of all the ink. i shine when Amber asks me how i got rid of my split ends. i shine every time i sparkle my organically rouged knees and elbows, my impenetrable mane of vitreous royal blue. I shine every time I reel another commission, shepherd a fair trade sucker to my affiliate link. I shine the melody of a laugh reel every time a customer satisfaction survey asks Marge Is Crystal over -booked? I shine every time Amber tallies her note pad with my returns from the porcelain throne. I shine every time my knees clink. compressed stones in the petrified rubber boots of my holistically cobalt, lead, titanium, invadadium flesh. I shine as Marge sighs Wake up! You fell asleep with scissors in your hands. Don’t clock in tomorrow.
Malibu Mirages
I’m on the sand and why is it so capitalized with surfers at six A.M.? Why am I capitalized? The sea glints back my reflection at six A.M. or P.M. I should have roots; they’re bright blue. I sloth my arms up, my nails heavy as bedazzled claws. When did I get claws? They clink when I tap my scalp. A great white’s teeth fail to graze my corundum sheath. Seal and surfer bros alike stare at the star of my head.
He used to like surfing here. He used to like surfing here with me. He used to like surfing here with me when I was dirtier. He used to like surfing here with me when I was dirtier and willing to corrupt my asterism glow with sea salt. He used to like surfing here with me when I was dirtier and willing to corrupt my asterism glow with sea salt, because my limbs were not clumps of aluminium oxide.
I used to. Now I have you, baby. Baby, you’re my truest blue. You’ll never leave me.
You’ll never
leave me as I sink.
You’ll never leave me.
You’ll never decay,
never dissolve,
nucleus baby!
When Hollywood’s but Strata of Plastic
interspersed with the bacterial mats
my scientists engineered to clear them,
We’ll be scalenohedron icons, my
insoluble light. How much brighter we’ll
enlighten each digit—no need for light
-weight cells to imprison our fingers to
rot. No need for eyes to take in the sun
as mortals do. We triangulate our
inner glow. How those organic bags of
flesh will weep at each spike of our sculptured
surface! How they will tremble as we stand

Thank you for reading through this horror hybrid fiction thing. I’m fascinated to know what people think about it. Please leave your comment in the form of a blurst customer satisfaction survey short response (jk). But actually, I would love to know how clearly the story came through/what y’all’s thoughts are. Also, if for some reason you stumbled upon this part first, consider scrolling back up to click on the button to read part 1!
Thank you, Nymphish!
I’ve had this idea rattling around in my head for almost two months now, thanks to Nymphish’s iconic NaPoWriMo poem “Two Truths and a Lie.” While the pieces I wrote are obviously fiction and any complete resemblances to real companies and/or people are purely coinkydinks, have fun figuring out which parts of her poem are fictitious and which are true. Read for yourself below:
Shoutout and credit again to Nymphish for the idea for this short story! I appreciate her letting me take that image of white sapphire shampoo and run with it. If you have some coins to spare, also consider checking out her zine available through Ko-fi!
I will no longer be asking for you to subscribe at the end of my posts. This is (partially) because all of my writing is here for free, anyway, whether you subscribe or follow or not. Also, fun fact, I have a wordpress now. You can get the same stuff here, but a bit sooner if you click here. If you’ve ever wanted to tip me, please consider instead doing one of the following:
Donating to an environmental non-profit or charity like one of the charities listed here
Donating to Amnesty International or NIJC or Human Rights Watch
Tipping and/or supporting one of my lovely friends: RM Greta, Saint Lazare, Bea, Alex J, Edward Marlo Ruiz, Walt Shuler, Ryan Stephen Thornton, pixiewithpens, and/or Nymphish!
Thank you for reading my work! Since I will not charge for subscriptions until this place enforces its own ToS on the Neo Nazis they’ve permitted to monetize themselves here, please consider instead sharing this post if you liked it.

This was wild Lee! Such a different thing to what you usually get up to and lots of fun to read. Sorry I’ve been absent, rejigged my email and stuff and somehow got unsubscribed!!
